Little Lake is one of those South Louisiana marsh destinations where a short run can put you around a mix of bays, bayous, grass lines, drains, and open-water edges. It is a good place to start looking for speckled trout as spring water temperatures begin to rise.
On moving water, focus on points, drains, and places where bait is being pushed through narrower cuts. Live shrimp under a popping cork is a dependable choice when available, while soft plastics let you cover more water until you find active fish.
Conditions in the marsh can change fast. Wind can muddy shallow water, while tide movement can completely change which areas are productive. If one shoreline is not working, keep moving until you find cleaner water, bait, or birds working nearby.
