Venice sits near the end of the Mississippi River and is one of Louisiana’s best-known jumping-off points for serious fishing. From the same general area, anglers can reach river passes, marsh, ponds, bays, nearshore water, and the open Gulf.
Redfish are a major inshore target, but Venice is also known for a wide range of saltwater fishing. The area is large, the river current can be strong, and weather can change quickly, so local knowledge and careful trip planning matter.
